Freeloader are a 3 or 4 piece Jazz group comprising of the south's finest young musicians playing the cool smooth sounds of Be-Bop & Post Bop Jazz. Freeloader can now also provide a covers band line-up (see Freeloader under Function Bands).

Freeloader specialise in the cool smooth sounds of Be-Bop and Post Bop Jazz, such as Bossa-Nova and Samba, Modal Jazz and Blues etc. Their set features the work of legends like Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Carlos Jobim, plus instrumental arrangements of older ballads and standards in a more modern style.
Freeloader try to infuse their playing with the energy and enthusiasm that many jazz groups regrettably lack, something that their experience and youth enable them to achieve. They have a core of musicians who play regularly but through strong connections forged with the local music scene are always able to add an extra player to their line up if the occasion calls for it.
Freeloader maintain frequent work in local bars and restaurants and are also available for private bookings and corporate functions.
As a special extra - Freeloader can also be booked as a function band to play a dancing set of cover versions during the mid-evening of an event. This allows you to save money and the hassle of two different bands playing at the same function, by covering the early evening Jazz music and mid-evening party band all contained in the same act.
Here is a basic list of pop/soul classics performed by the band as a party set. This list works out as a maximum 3 x 50 minute sets, horn players can also be added to join the band for soul numbers too!!
